Bio

Jared Turkington is a Consultant at Crestview Strategy based in Sydney, drawing on experience in public affairs, campaigns and policy development across the government and not-for-profit sector.

Before joining Crestview, Jared worked in the Parliament of New South Wales as the Senior Electorate Officer for the Member for Coogee and State Parliamentary Secretary for Transport. He supported policy responsibilities across the transport and e-micromobility sector, community grants, social issues and policing, while developing briefing materials, advice, correspondence and media materials.

Jared’s experience includes overseeing crisis communications and working closely with government departments in response to critical incidents, building and maintaining relationships with media and stakeholders, political analysis of polling, data and strategic policy, as well as supporting community organisations to navigate NSW and Commonwealth grant funding programs.

Before working within NSW Parliament, Jared led the National Membership team at one of the nation’s oldest and largest trade unions, the Australian Workers’ Union. He led campaigns and stakeholder mobilisation initiatives, developed team strategy and training, balanced competing objectives between state branches and the national office framework and gained experience in political advocacy, targeted communication and engaging diverse audiences to achieve campaign objectives.

Jared has a strong interest in public policy, politics and how government engages with business and communities, with particular strengths in strategic engagement, political analysis, crisis communications, and campaign strategy.

Jared holds a Bachelor of Communications, majoring in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Technology, Sydney.
