Bio
Hunter is one of Canada’s leading public opinion researchers and political strategists, with deep expertise in polling, data science, and strategic communications across corporate and political contexts. He has extensive experience in politics, having worked on polling and data strategy for campaigns at the provincial and municipal levels across the country. He currently serves as Vice-President of Communications for the Ontario Liberal Party, and previously served as Data Director for an Ontario Liberal Party leadership campaign. He authors Charting Canada, a data-driven Substack analyzing voter behaviour, demographic and regional political shifts, and election outcomes, widely read by political practitioners and observers across the country.
Prior to joining Crestview Strategy, Hunter served as Director of Advanced Analytics at a public opinion research firm. He is also a regular guest lecturer at the Ivey School of Business and Carleton University’s Political Science program.
Hunter holds an HBA degree from the Ivey School of Business and has completed MIT’s Applied Data Science program. He is a recipient of the 2025 Rising 30 award in the Politics and Public Affairs category and the 2024 Peak Emerging Leaders award in the Politics and Government category. He is also a co-founder of Open Arms, an organization dedicated to supporting refugees and newcomers in Canada.
