Bio
Heidi Christensen is a strategic communications professional with more than 20 years of diverse experience. Based in our Calgary office, she has deep sector fluency in Canadian energy and infrastructure and is focused on turning complex business stories into compelling public narratives, building stakeholder trust and public confidence.
Heidi has helped to advance some of Canada’s most important energy and infrastructure projects, including one of the largest carbon capture and storage developments in the world. Her experience spans the full spectrum of strategic communications including crisis and regulatory communications, corporate and brand reputation, media relations, national public affairs campaigns, and investor relations and financial communications.
Having worked in-house for some of Canada’s largest and most respected publicly-traded companies, Heidi has directed communications and stakeholder engagement campaigns in support of securing key AUC rulings for a major pipeline project, led a counter-campaign that helped a national capital markets client withstand a short-seller attack, and launched a national advocacy campaign in support of Canada’s oil sands industry.
She sits on the Board of Directors for Katimavik, a national non-profit supporting young adults and organizations in building a more united Canada, along with the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation – experiences that bring a genuine, grounded understanding of the environmental and community context her clients operate within.
Heidi holds an MBA and a BSc, both from the University of Calgary. She is most happy at home in the beautiful Canadian Rockies and is a passionate downhill skier with the goal of finding wintry conditions worldwide so she can ski all 12 months of the year.
