Michael Xanthis is a public policy and government affairs specialist with nearly two decades of experience navigating the intersection of government, regulation, and industry.
Michael is known for his ability to build trusted relationships with decision makers and guide clients through highstakes challenges. His career spans federal parliament, the public service, and the financial services sector, where he has led legislative strategy, shaped major reform packages such as the cyclone reinsurance pool, and supported executive teams through parliamentary inquiries.
Before joining Crestview Strategy, Michael served in senior roles across the Australian Government, including in the Treasury portfolio. He worked across multiple divisions within the Federal Treasury covering national security, defence, and the federal budget. He contributed to initiatives such as the MySuper reforms, the Intergenerational Report, and the expansion of national housing and consumer policy frameworks.
Currently based in Melbourne, Michael holds a Master of Finance from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Business (Economics/Finance) from Edith Cowan University.
