Bio

Andrea Smith is a public affairs and strategic communications professional with experience advising senior political leaders on government, policy and communications strategy.  

Through nearly a decade in politics, Andrea has served in increasingly senior roles across the Alberta Government. She brings expertise in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, issues management, and organizational leadership, helping clients navigate complex challenges with clarity and confidence.   

Before joining Crestview Strategy, Andrea served as Deputy Director of the Alberta Government Caucus, where she advised the Premier and senior leadership on caucus operations, political strategy, and organizational leadership. Previously, Andrea was a Senior Press Secretary for several Alberta government ministries, including Health, Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration, Affordability and Utilities, and Children and Family Services.   

Born in raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Political Science from the University of Victoria, where she competed as a varsity swimmer and was recognized as a two-time Academic All-Canadian. She is an avid sewist, gardener, and enjoys spending time with her husband, dog and young daughter.
